The Grandfathering Initiative is a special pathway designed to recognize and admit experienced professionals into CIN through an alternative route that waives the standard examination requirements.
It acknowledges years of demonstrated competence, leadership, and contribution to the compliance profession — enabling deserving professionals to formalize their expertise as Associate Members of the Institute.
Through this initiative, successful candidates gain access to CIN’s exclusive professional resources, continuous education programs, and a vibrant community of compliance experts driving integrity, accountability, and ethical governance in Nigeria and beyond.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for admission under the Grandfathering Initiative, candidates must meet the following requirements:
1. Professional Experience
- Minimum of Seven (7) years of work experience in compliance, risk management, audit, legal, or related regulatory functions.
- Proven record of responsibility, expertise, and ethical conduct in compliance roles.
2. Educational Qualification
- A Minimum of First degree from an accredited university.
- Must possess a compliance-related qualification, obtained more than five (5) years ago
- Additional Professional certifications in compliance or related fields are an advantage.
3. Professional Standing
- Current or previous membership in recognized professional bodies.
- No record of professional misconduct or disciplinary action from previous employers or regulators.
4. Ethical Commitment
- Strong alignment with CIN’s core values of integrity, transparency, and accountability.
- Willingness to abide by the CIN Code of Conduct and Ethics upon acceptance.
Application Requirements
Qualified candidates are required to submit the following documents:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) – detailing professional experience and achievements.
- Copies of Academic and Professional Certificates.
- Letter of Recommendation – from a supervisor or professional referee attesting to the candidate’s competence and conduct.
- Personal Statement (250–500 words) – outlining contributions to the compliance profession and motivation for joining CIN.

Application Deadline
All applications must be submitted on or before December 4th, 2025.
Selection and Induction
Applications will undergo a thorough review by the Institute’s assessment panel.
Shortlisted candidates may be invited for a brief interview or additional verification.
Successful applicants will be formally inducted as Associate Members (ACIN) at the CIN Induction Ceremony scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025.
