A delegation led by the President of the Compliance Institute, Nigeria recently visited the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
During the visit, the President of CIN expressed gratitude to the agencies for their support and audience and called upon their leadership to encourage professional development in compliance within their organization, the president requested support in the passing of the CIN Charter bill currently undergoing its second reading at the National Assembly, and went on to Invite management and staffs to upcoming compliance programs and events.
The CEO of the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), Mrs. Hafsat Bakari, emphasized the importance of compliance in any effective framework to prevent money launderers and terrorist financiers from abusing Nigeria’s system and causing harm to the economy and national security.
The goal of the visit was to promote a culture of compliance within Nigeria.
